

Nicola Crook
Registered Clinical Psychologist and CAT Practitioner
Nicola Crook is a UK trained Clinical Psychologist with experience of working in Adult Community Mental Health Teams in the UK National Health Service (NHS) and in New Zealand. She is currently working for Mental Health, Addictions & Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS) in Wellington’s Regional Personality Disorder Service. In this role, Nicola trains multidisciplinary staff on the use of CAT in their clinical work, and draws upon the CAT approach when providing consultation and supervision to mental health teams. She has experience of using CAT both individually and in group settings. Nicola has worked mainly with people presenting with severe and enduring mental health needs, including personality disorder. She has become increasingly interested in the application of compassion (CFT; Paul Gilbert) to her clinical work. Nicola completed her post graduate diploma in Cognitive Analytic Therapy in the UK in 2012. Nicola is currently working towards her CAT Supervisor Accreditation. Ally Waite
Registered Clinical Psychologist and CAT Practitioner & Supervisor
Allyson is a Registered Clinical Psychologist and CAT practitioner as well as CAT supervisor, trained in the UK. She currently works in private practice where she offers psychological assessment and treatment, supervision and training. Ally has a particular interest in CAT approaches to working with sexual issues and in using CAT formulation in working with complex presentations. She has also been involved in CAT supervision and training in NZ and is a co-director and therapist for Sex Therapy New Zealand. Her background is working in public health with adults and older people presenting with severe and enduring mental health difficulties. Ally is available in Auckland for both therapy and supervision. Louise Smith
Registered Clinical Psychologist and CAT Practitioner & Supervisor
Louise completed her Doctorate in Psychology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology in 1994 at the University of Otago. Following this she branched out into other areas of child and family work and has spent many years engaging in in-depth therapy work with adults and children affected by sexual, physical and emotional abuse. She has also worked in the field of suicide prevention and postvention, and continues to work for the Family Court as a specialist report writer. Louise completed her CAT practitioner training in 2013 and has also completed her supervisor accreditation. She is an enthusiastic CAT practitioner who enjoys working alongside other clinicians as they learn to work with CAT. She is able to offer CAT supervision and short forms of CAT (e.g. 1-4 session mini formulations) online and face to face sessions in Central Otago. Vicky Bostock
Registered Clinical Psychologist and CAT Practitioner & Supervisor
Vicky completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology in the UK in 2009 and went on to complete her Postgraduate Diploma in CAT in 2014. Vicky worked as a qualified Clinical Psychologist within the London NHS before moving to NZ in 2017. She has an interest in working with adults and older adults, including those presenting with high degrees of complexity. As well as using CAT in individual work, Vicky has found CAT to be a particularly helpful framework for offering consultation to mental health teams, inpatient wards and supported accommodations. Vicky currently works for Counties Manukau DHB and in private practice in central Auckland. She offers CAT therapy and supervision both in person and online. Rachel Hodge
Rachel Hodge, Registered Clinical Psychologist and CAT Practitioner
Rachel is a Registered Clinical Psychologist working in Christchurch. She completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology in 2012 at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand and became accredited in CAT in 2019. Rachel worked at the Specialist Mental Health Services in Christchurch with adults with severe and chronic mental health difficulties for eight years. She also worked in a team supporting individuals with a cancer diagnosis. Currently she is working as Psychology Clinical Lead at Christchurch’s public hospital, doing her clinical work in the Diabetes Centre, and works privately one day a week (Thursdays). Emma Bosworth
Registered Clinical Psychologist and CAT Practitioner & Supervisor
Emma is a Clinical Psychologist who has worked in public and private health settings both in the UK and NZ, predominantly in adult mental health services, but also in Health Psychology (Oncology/ Haematology). She completed her CAT training in the UK in 2006, and has continued with regular CAT supervision as a CAT Practitioner. Having moved to New Zealand in 2008, she became part of a CAT special interest supervision group in 2009 and continued through until 2015. Emma has gained supervisory experience in recent years with Clinical Psychology Trainees, Clinical Psychologists and colleagues from multi-disciplinary teams. Jonna Siitarinen

Jonna is a UK trained clinical psychologist with 15 years’ experience working in mental health services in the UK National Health Service (NHS). She has mainly worked with adults with severe and enduring mental health difficulties, including personality disorder, both in inpatient and community settings. She also works with staff offering training and supervision. Jonna completed her post graduate diploma in Cognitive Analytic Therapy in the UK in 2011 and is an ACAT accredited CAT practitioner and supervisor.
